In 1976 Judith Shavin opened her shop. Ever since she has provided the
finest in stationery, invitations, and calligraphy in the area. She takes
great pride in the fact that the shop is a destination store. People come
here specifically for the service and quality that has made the
Scriptorium the success it has been for over 24-years. Her customers value
her taste level as well as the advice she gives concerning their project.
She carries a wide variety of stationery including the well-known Crane
and William Arthur lines.

The shop is located in Norford Court off Cameron Street in Old Town
Alexandria. Her shop is the last one in the courtyard. It is believed that her
shop area was the kitchen for the Norford Inn, which was erected around 200
years ago. The shop is stocked full of stationery, blank cards, and fill-in
invitations for any occasion. There is also a great selection of manuscript
books, address books, etiquette books, and Calendars/Diaries.
There is a reason the Scriptorium has been around
for 24 years. That reason is quality.
