Massage and Acupuncture
Tailored To Your Needs
|
|
Alexandria Bodyworks is unique. While the methods and philosophies differ,
the goals of Massage and Acupuncture are the same: The relief of stress and
pain. Both techniques facilitate the body’s natural healing processes in order
to achieve a healthful balance. Calvin Boothe and Helen McCollum have partnered
to bring you a tailor made solution to what ails you. Whether you are looking to
relax, or you are experiencing headache, chronic muscular pain or nearly any
other disorder, Massage and Acupuncture either administered separately, or in
combination could be the solution that you have been looking for.
You can count on Alexandria Bodyworks to be immaculately clean. Each of the
four therapy rooms are pleasantly decorated, and include heated therapy tables
for your comfort. Alexandria Bodyworks is located at 728 Jefferson Street, just
one block off South Washington Street in Old Town. Ample parking is available
around the back.
| There are six Nationally Certified Massage Therapists on staff at
Alexandria Bodyworks. Calvin Boothe, Rita Pearce, Caroline Quigley, Irish
Everett, Marilyn Spilsbury and Diane Troup are each highly trained and
dedicated professionals with over 30 years of experience between them.
Several varieties of Massage Therapy are available including Swedish, Deep
Muscle, Russian, Neuromuscular, Trigger Point, Shiatsu and Reflexology.
Massage Therapy exercises muscles and moves body fluids to relieve
stiffness and soreness. Through the restoration of impaired energy flow
and stimulation of the circulatory and lymph systems, Massage Therapy
improves the texture and elasticity of tissues. By breaking down adhesions
and restrictions in and around your joints, Massage Therapy helps your
body to rid itself of toxins. It stimulates the production of endorphins
which are your body’s own chemical pain relievers. They offer a selection
of aromatherapy products as well as lumbar supports and cervical
pillows. |

A graduate of the Maryland Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (MITCM),
Helen McCollum is a National Board Certified Acupuncturist. Helen has traveled
to China as part of her studies and credits acupuncture for her recovery from
years of chronic neck and upper back pain. Did you know that the National
Institute of Health has endorsed Acupuncture as an effective treatment for many
maladies such as back pain, asthma, postoperative dental pain, addiction, stroke
rehabilitation, cramps, and nausea during pregnancy? Acupuncture needles are
single use, disposable and only as fine as a human hair so that there is little
or no discomfort. Acupuncture is a very relaxing experience that leaves one
feeling energized with a sense of well being. Let Helen help you to understand
how Acupuncture works with your body’s energy to strengthen your immune system
and promote your bodies ability to heal itself.
A visit to Alexandria Bodyworks will leave you feeling soothed and
rejuvenated. Knowing that your have begun the journey to a healthy, balanced
life is sure to lift your spirit. The nice folks at Alexandria Bodyworks have
